Hemp, Marijuana - what's the Difference?

People often ask me, whats the difference between hemp and marijuana and I have to say that, scientifically and genetically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana can be the same plant, with a genus and species name of Cannabis Sativa. While hemp cannabis is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, marijuana can be Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis.

The major difference is how hemp cannabis has been bred compared to marijuana cannabis. Hemp cannabis is very fibrous, with long strong stalks, and barely has any flowering buds, while marijuana cannabis will be smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds. Marijuana has been bred to have a high amount of THC and only a very low amount of non-psychoactive cannabinoids or CBD. Hemp is the opposite, having a very high amount of CBD and only a trace amount of THC less (than .3 percent). The cannabinoids in hemp is ideal for people looking for benefits from cannabis without the high from the THC found in marijuana.

Our hemp extract is sometimes referred to by people as cannabis oil, and is obviously being used to describe our hemp extract drops.  No medical marijuana card is necessary and we ship to all fifty states legally.
